On December 7, 2017, the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) held the "2017 China Textile Innovation Conference" in Beijing. The conference, themed "New Era, New Balance, New Development - Strategies and Paths to Build a World-Class Textile Power," shared annual innovation achievements across multiple dimensions, including industry trends, technological progress, material resources, fashion creativity, brand building, social responsibility, consumer demand, product competitiveness, and sustainable innovation. During the conference, the "2017 Top Ten Innovative Textile Products" award ceremony was held.
To implement the "Several Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Conducting the Special Action for Creating a Good Market Environment for the Consumer Goods Industry 'Three Products'" (Guo Ban Fa [2016] No. 40), and to promote textile enterprises to accelerate the implementation of the "Three Products" strategy (increasing variety, improving quality, and creating brands), the Department of Consumer Goods Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology entrusted the China National Textile and Apparel Council to carry out the "2017 Top Ten Innovative Textile Products" selection activity.
This activity lasted for half a year, focusing on the assessment of the innovative products' design creativity, technological innovation, quality assurance, ecological friendliness, and market performance. The products submitted covered the three major textile end-use categories: clothing, home textiles, and industrial textiles.
A total of 64 products in ten categories were awarded the title of "2017 Top Ten Innovative Textile Products." These innovative products include temperature-regulating down jackets, wrinkle-resistant travel suits, waterproof sportswear, far-infrared thermal outdoor clothing, ultra-light thin skin jackets, plant-dyed printed shirts, flame-retardant and UV-resistant functional curtains, light-transmitting and anti-peeping UV-resistant window screens, eco-sensing towels, health-monitoring mattresses, and antibacterial anti-smog masks.
Since the implementation of the "Three Products" strategy in the consumer goods industry, textile enterprises have actively developed personalized, fashionable, functional, green, and intelligent textile products. This has increased the technological content and added value of products, met and led consumer upgrading demands, and accelerated the advancement of China's textile and apparel industry towards the mid-to-high end.
