Huansi Software collaborates with Luolai Home Textiles to establish a smart factory

On September 5, 2015, Luolai Home Textile Co., Ltd. held a kickoff meeting for the implementation of a new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. The meeting was attended by over 50 people including the Luolai leadership team, members from both Luolai and Huansi project teams, the IE technology department, IT department, and heads and managers from relevant departments and production workshops.

During the launching ceremony, Manager Peng, who is the project leader of Luolai, gave a speech and discussed the project's background, progress, and system environment. Luolai Home Textile Co. Ltd has already implemented the SAP supply chain system, and now the company aims to establish a reliable, comprehensive, and feasible MES (manufacturing execution system). Huansi Software, with its experience in the textile industry, especially in home textile enterprises, has got the opportunity to participate in the project. After conducting a field investigation and research on Luolai Home Textiles, Huansi Software provided a software and hardware integration solution based on RFID technology that successfully passed the feasibility technology test of Luolai Home Textiles. This ceremony is not only a launching event but also a mobilization to start the project. The project will realize the networking of people, materials, and equipment in the production and manufacturing process, greatly improving the visualization and control ability of production management personnel on the production site, and ensuring the full traceability of the production process. Following Manager Peng's speech, Cao Gong, the MES project manager of Luolai Home Textile of Huansi Software, gave an explanatory speech on the project from several aspects such as RFID introduction, project objectives, project plans, and precautions.


The Huansi RFID Home Textile and Garment Workshop Production Management System is a comprehensive factory solution that uses radio frequency identification (RFID) and barcode automatic identification technology to gather real-time production information and work efficiency data from workers. This helps managers to obtain real-time production data from the system platform, allowing them to understand comprehensive details on production progress, employee performance, parking space status, work-in-progress quantity and other aspects anytime and anywhere. The system uses RFID electronic tags to establish a connection channel for management personnel, senior management and workshop front-line workers. The system achieves standard management of the piece, real-time registration and query of output, order progress tracking, piecework wage management, and visual management functions. The project objectives and management benefits of the MES system on the line of the Huansi prediction and planning are achieved through the implementation of the detailed plan by Cao Gong. The plan covers embroidery, workshop, carding, quilting, each workshop of pillow core, and single set. The implementation of the total time plan, monthly plan, weekly plan, major milestones and other nodes have been notified and defined. In the precautions for the implementation of the project, Cao Gong warned of the expected difficulties and risks based on years of implementation experience. He emphasized that all participants need to actively implement various resources and provide multiple supports and guarantees promptly to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

After the project kick-off meeting, Manager Peng, who is the project leader of Luolaifang, summarized the significance of the MES project based on RFID technology. The aim of the project is to achieve timely, complete, standardized, and information-based data collection specifications. The collected data will be used to analyze the bottleneck process, benchmarking, WIP, personnel and load intelligence multi-angle analysis. The ultimate goal is to make the production site transparent, eliminate information blind spots, optimize management, and improve on-site management capabilities.

Human intelligence is comprised of seven intelligences, including language, mathematical logic, and visual-spatial abilities. The stable and open MES platform offers unlimited possibilities for realizing smart factories. There have been many successful cases of collaboration between GCS MES system and SAP, Oracle, and other well-known international management software. This has laid a solid foundation for the MES project to establish data interfaces and facilitate data interaction between RCS MES project and Luolai Home Textile SAP on order information. The MES platform will also enable standard working hours data transmission with the GST system and an integration plan for the suspension system of some of the current production lines of Luolai. The integration of each system with the MES system and related docking work is being carried out in an orderly manner.

The MES system involves the collaborative participation of multiple departments, and the responsibilities and roles of each participating department and members were clarified at the meeting, and the MES project plan was refined to each department and each person to ensure that the project was carried out in accordance with the established plan and plan.

The implementation of an RFID-based MES system, along with the specific requirements of Luolai Home Textile SAP, will significantly reduce production costs, accelerate technological advancements, improve market competitiveness, and enhance overall management. This will enable the company to create a digital platform for its production and manufacturing processes. The use of a three-dimensional electronic Kanban board on-site will centralize production data, process and provide real-time feedback on production tasks and information, and improve the transparency of the production site. This will help in achieving the goal of streamlining production management. The MES group version's planning and scheduling module will improve the rationality and predictability of the primary production plan based on the production load of each branch workshop. Each production workshop will use the MES team planning module to divide the production tasks into smaller teams. The MES system's built-in mathematical model will carry out semi-automatic production scheduling for unscheduled production plans, using multi-logic such as delivery priority principle, printing and embroidery process priority principle, and single quantity priority principle. The system will provide visual guidance for the reasonable arrangement of the team plan through the intuitive Gantt chart and different color identification.


The MES system has incorporated cloud technology to enhance the communication between the MES system and mobile phone terminals. This allows equipment warranty and maintenance instructions to be directly sent to the mechanic's mobile phone via WeChat. Additionally, the daily output can be subscribed to and sent to the relevant management personnel's mobile phones. The early warning center will also trigger relevant notifications, if the actual output is significantly different from the planned output, allowing relevant personnel to be informed immediately. This helps to ensure that the production and operation of the enterprise can be monitored and managed remotely, anytime and anywhere.

Luolai's MES project is an effective support for the SAP system. It integrates the personnel attendance system, GST standard working hours system, and suspension system. The project uses electronic dashboard, cloud technology, and big data analysis, which enables the control of the whole process of multi-factory production.

The MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is of great significance to Luolai Home Textiles in building a smart factory. Its successful implementation by another domestic home textile listed company, Shandong Vosri Home Textile Group, is a great encouragement to Luolai. This milestone project will greatly consolidate CIRCS Software's leading position and edge in the field of smart factories that integrate software and hardware in the textile industry.
